Hi hi everyone. i've never been to a rave before, but i think i really really want to go to this one. what should i be prepared for? what should i bring? anything for safetywiseness??

Go.

Just be prepared for lots of happy hardcore music and lots of super nice people. There isn't much that can prepare you beyond that. Picking up and listening to some of the live CDs recorded at previous hullabaloo's might help, but nothing can truly capture what its like to be there.

Safety wise, just like any other public place, keep your wits about you(and watch out for the stairs of DOOM). Health wise, the same cosniderations as any vigorous physical activity. Stay hydrated, take breaks, and listen to your bodies aches and pains.

Check out www.erowid.org - even if you don't indulge in anything, it could be useful to understand why some people do things that might seem strange at the time or to enable you to help in case someone starts having a bad reaction or starts dehydrating or whatnot. And if you do indulge, reading the information there and applying it can literally save your life. Less dramatically, it can help you choose a chemical you will enjoy and help you get the most out of it.

I wanted to post sooner.... but as I hit Post Quick Reply.... my cable went out... couldn't even watch TV.. luckily I had South Park episodes on the computer that is hooked up to my TV...

Be prepared for -- Loud music... happy vibe... kids of all ages.... love/respect/peace/etc.... a headache if you're not accustomed to loud music and bass (if you're high.. you won't even notice)... people wearing kandi braclettes/necklaces, whistles, pacifiers... and an over-all vibe of nice people...

What to bring -- Bring whatever you want... no weapons... no clothing accessories that can be used as weaponry... no drugs of course ( ), do not bring medication for they will think it's drugs... do not attempt to bring water bottles in because security will not allow them since they might contain some form of drug like liquid g... obviously don't bring any alcohol with you unless you plan on drinking it all before you go in... and i dont think you can drink it outside anyways... and for the love of rave... do not bring any hatred... you will be frowned upon!

As for safetiness.... there will be onsite perimedics... just in case...

well... i guess that pretty much sums everything up. i wanted to add some sort of wisdom, but these guys did a damn good job. hullas are a very good first rave, my first was a hulla. its a very fun, non-threatening environment, and a great way to ease into the scene. if you go, i personally garantee you'll have an amazing time. andi f you go, look for me and say hi. (i'll be the girl in the deflated purple inner tube skirt)

I dunno anything about you personally, but I know that a lot of newbs think that the they idea of a rave is to get as fucked on drugs as they possibly can.
If you had that in mind, it's a stupid idea... raves are not sitting in someone's basement, raves are not a controllable environment, and raves are definitely not some place to be so cracked out that you don't know what the hell's going on... like ctraverboy said, keep your wits about you

^ you wanna meet me!?! thats crazzzyyy, but ok! I didn't go to head of the class, for financial reasons (im piss poor!) and i was really sick. Just like im not going to LOTR (dispite how much its going to kill me tomorrow night to be sitting there not going) for the money as well.

But if you wanna meet then sure, lol i don't know why you do but sure!

definatly go, and i agree completely with whoever said to NOT plan on getting completely funked outta yer mind at yer first rave, i would also suggest NOT doing drugs if you have never done them before..because no one knows how its going to effect you the first time especially..
it will be hot..

I'm also agreeing with not planning on gettin' completely trashed. I just went to my first rave and took it easy, even though all I really do is drink. It let me get a better feel for things. For my next one, maybe I'll step up a bit and drink a little more Just go and have fun.
