You deffinitely have to go for a space theme with this one.

make a jetpack out of two 2 litre pop bottle secured together, the open ends pointing downard, and cover them in duct tape to make them silver and not see-through-ish. Then make the thruster bottomy things out of duct tape and cardboard, so as to be more inventive than duct-tape-covered-pop-bottle-man. After that, make some "Space" armor, using more duct tape and cardboard. May aswell make use of the construction items of the day. Make sure to make shoulder straps for it... backpack-style.

Make a space-armor vest dealy, because that will be easy, then maybe shin and fore-arm coverings. Try to modify some sort of helmet to look spacey. Again... cover it in duct tape. Even making a visor wouldn't be too hard, provided you can find some fairly sturdy, transparent plastic... maybe parts of more 2 litre pop bottles.

Decorate everything with either... other colours of duct tape... or... well, that's really the best idea... you can't use much else to colour the duct tape, except paint... and that will crack/melt off depending on the paint you
use...
