i am from Pickering and when i was 16 - 19, on many occasions, we would get harrassed by the cops for loitering outside a coffee shop. We would get chased into the forest for crying out loud. My name was taken down so many times i lost count. They even had Undercover cops come by..yeah all we were doing was playing hackie sack..Some ppl would drink in the forest and do drugs.. but i'm sure the cops have more important things to do then to harrass us. It was lame.

HAHA HOLY SHIT!

i lived in pickering for a few years.

i remember a female cop patting me down before the Bay Ridges Festival and smiling at me while she grabbed my crotch lmao. I used to go to bush parties at The Chimney in the forest behind Pine Ridge Secondary. I also smoked more than a few joints at the abandoned barn in Whitevale.

but yeah... Durham cops are pretty hardass.

did people chill at The Hub when you were a teenager?

I went to that school.
The cops called it crime ridge..we had security cameras, drug dogs came in once a week..and we almost got medal detectors.

Durham is retarded..
The cops there anyway.
i went to the festival and got searched also..it's bc it's supposed to be a family event but a lot of teenagers go and just get fucked up and there are fights that happen. I've seen it, and i've seen some guy having to get rushed to hte hospital bc he was out cold.

What's 'the hub' ?
i'm not down with the lingo lol

the hub is the plaza at one the northeast corner of Liverpool & Kingston Rd.

pine ridge is nothing compared to any scarborough school i've been too. safest school i ever attended.

that lady cop who felt up my nuts had no problem letting me bring a joint into the festival this was during that few months when there was no marijuana law on the books, after the supreme court decision.

Now compare those numbers with an American city of similar size.

Just thought I'd bump this thread since I just read about Toronto's 29th murder this year. We're almost half way through the year, and as I expected, the murder rate has returned to normal. Too bad CNN won't report that.
