Do you have any tips for coming up from the States?
Hullabaloo is attended by people from all over North America (and the world!). We will have hundreds of Americans visiting from the US for each event. It's recommended you book a hotel to sleep after the event is over rather than drive back immediately. As far as crossing the border, we recommend you tell the customs officials the truth but keep it as simple as possible (ie: You're attending a concert at the Opera House in Toronto, featuring Anabolic Frolic, a dance act). Our current venue, the Opera House, is a well known concert venue in Toronto. We would suggest to not dress to outlandishly while crossing the border or do anything that would bring you unwanted attention.

I want to be married at hulla.
We are inundated with special requests like this, and unfortunately we simply cannot accomodate all the requests. and it would be unfair to allow some but not others. Sorry.

I want you to do something special for me.
Well, feel free to ask, but like above, we are inundated with special requests and simply cant accomodate most of them.

What's the guest list and how can I get on it?
We don't offer any sort of "guestlist" at our events. We feel that none of our patrons are better than anyone else so everyone should be treated equally. At the end of the day if you don't feel our event is worth paying for then we don't want to see you there.

But I'm traveling from really far away and it's taking all my money to get there.
Sorry, I dont want to seem mean, but again we get so many requests like this it's just impossible to make exceptions. What exactly makes one person more deserving than another? The bottom line is these are very expensive parties so we can't let hundreds of people in for free.

I'm a promoter and want to promote at your event
Promoters (people handing out flyers, etc..) are allowed to stand outside the main entrance and hand out flyers to our patrons as they are leaving. Handing out flyers has nothing to do with attending one of our events so if you'd like to come inside you'll have to buy a ticket. Also, please be mindful of the mess outside (flyers on the street), thanks.

I want to meet DJ xyz, how can i meet him?
Well, we cant do much to arrange this, but most dj's will hang out after their sets and are quite approachable. Just keep an eye out, you may see them walking around in the crowd - just say hello!

why haven't you booked DJ xyz yet?!
There are many factors that go into getting a DJ. a) do they play the music we promote? b) are they available on the dates of our parties? c) are they priced in our budget? d) do they play for other promoters in Toronto often? We like to keep our talent fresh and unique. e) Have they played for us too recently? as you can see, there are lots of reasons why, but we do appreciate your input on our lineups.

I'm a wicked dj and want to play for you.
At this time we are not accepting unsolicited demo mixes from DJs locally or internationally. We book talent by watching the scene and seeing what DJs are making names for themselves and can contribute to the overall value of Hulla by being there. You have to remember that Hullabaloo is one of the biggest event brand names the entire world over and it's not the kind of event for someone to make their name at, but more the pinnacle of a long DJ career who has finally earned the right to play on her stage. Our advice to all newer DJs is to continue to refine your skills at other smaller shows, keep getting your name out there and hopefully someday with a lot of perseverance you'll get there too. It's the exact path everyone before you has taken so have patience.

We also do not deal with DJ Agency's whatsoever, so if you're an agent representing a talent, we will not respond to your requests. Hullabaloo is a very special place, and if a DJ can't be bothered to make some special personal effort to play it, we simply have no interest in having them.

I'm a wicked MC and want to MC at a Hulla.
We haven't added any new MCs to our roster in a while, but that has a lot to do with the fact that I feel we don't need any more and too many MCs just gets annoying. Sometimes new MCs will ask to MC at the beginning of the night when we dont otherwise have some, but there's no point in that since the crowd isn't really hyped up yet, and it just gets annoying to hear an MC when they're getting no crowd response. Anywys, having said that, it's not like we'll never hire another MC, but you're going to have to really impress us at other events before our own. And one thing definitely NOT to do is to jump on the mic at our parties without our asking, cause that's a good way to get on my bad side and hurt your chances of playing our shows.

I really want help out, how can I?
Thanks for the offer, we really appreciate it. Things are pretty much sorted, and we don't have the need for many volunteers. One thing we do need help with is promotions, especially since we stopped flyering parties. So if you can pass along our e-flyer to any rave mailing lists or web calanders that would be great.

I wrote you an email, but you never responded, why?
Sorry! We get so much email that I find if i dont respond to it immediately it'll get lost in the crowd and wont get a response at all. If it's important, keep asking. But don't take it as a personal snub if you don't get a response right away.
