Getting close to having all the sets mixed down and mastered. 2 left.

The recordings so far are sick. We really nailed it. I'll probably have some clips posted next week.

bah. I was hoping to have 5 of the sets bounced to a hard drive today and be able to rip clips from them but we had a tech problem and weren't there to fix it. (Bouncing is done in real time, so 5 sets = 5 hours). I'll try again tomorrow.

They sound incredible though. If I were to offer this service to another promoter my fee would easily be more than $5k.

They're being mixed at Aesthetic Corp which is a post production company in Toronto for movies and TV shows. The studio I'm in at the moment is set up for Imax. This same Pro-Tools system at this particular studio handled all the music editing for the entire series of Queer as Folk.

Some dude in from another company in the building could hear the hardcore playing and came by to investigate, turns out he was an oldschool raver from the 90s and knew who I was. Always fun when that happens.

Finished mixing all the sets. Now I'm at the studio bouncing all 8 & 1/2 hours to a hard drive in real time. I'm getting sick of listening to Hulla now .

Other residents of the building kept coming by to look into "what the hell is with all those whistles?!"

Great! Cause I have a fever and the only cure is more whistles. Sorry, that was lame I know. I had too much iced coffee from CC's this morning with my boss and I'm having a caffeine overload.

I've got the cure for what ails ya .

The first mix I've completed has TOO many whistles and I have to go back and bring them down a touch. I fall in love with listening to them, but I have to find a nice middle ground for everyone.

^^ I just listed to the sample you put up. I would have to say that cures my fever. You totally nailed a middle ground and balance of whistles to music ratio.

bah. the mix failed my "ipod test", I've got to pull the whistles back a bit. I'm back at the studio today.

but if you pick up the DVD you can boost those rear speakers as loud as you like .

I miss you when you're in the studio all day.

I mean, what you're doing is important and needs to get done. I'm just sayin'.

you nailed it with that one.......you know for yourself that frolic has hundreds of people counting on him right now. Although family time is a very important matter, don't get me wrong, but I've been waiting a very long time for this

no hard feelings

Oh, I know. It has to be done. It's just hard having him away all day, day after day. It's astounding to me that the by-yourself-all-day, day-after-day routine is normal life for most stay-at-home parents... I find it so lonely when he's not here, I'm so used to him being here with me most of the time.

But I do know the box sets have to get done, and the longer he stays at the studio when he's there, the less days he'll have to go into the studio.
