Some time ago in Halifax police strip searched 34 people at a rave. The police claimed that they were within their rights because there was the smell of marijuana in the air and because PIPE (Halifax version of TRIP) were handing out drug safety information flyers.

The police did an internal investigation and decided that they did nothing wrong.

The following link is to a petition that I encourage you to sign. It’s is to make the police accountable for the body searches that happened at the rave. The link is:

http://www.PetitionOnline.com/2001hfx/petition.html.

This petition is valid and will be used in the hearings that are to be held about this event.
