I've been told by many people that our scene over here in vancouver is pretty much a fucking joke compared to alot of other places, so I was just wondering what everyone thinks of the scene back east?

Comparisons?
What kind of music is big back there?
how big and how underground do parties get?
Are as many people stupid with drugs over there as they are here? (I'm guessing yes )

The scene here is one of the biggest in North America
Lots of everything right now... some major jungle though
NO underground parties... too much media attention
Still lots os drugs but lots of sober ppl too
'rave' bar/clubs have become big as well
there is always a party to be found on the weekend

are there any smaller, non underground parties?

we used to have alot of those, but then the city council decided that we needed to buy a $5000 or so permit to have a legal party. So now its pretty much impossible to throw an all night party legally without making it into a complete money grab.

Ohyeah... no parties are underground but they still occur pretty much every weekend... @ legal venues

there are a couple of art studios that throw parties downtown from time to time...tiny events 200 max
rather undergrond

you go because its intimate and cheap

^ yeah, i agree. Not only at art studios, but other empty spaces as well, but they tend to be really small events.
