i think with as many ppl registered as there are, the board does need guidelines. i agree the most with the rule that stops those threads that are like "anyone from (place name of your location here)"

8. PLEASE DON'T ADVERTISE YOUR DRUG USE ON THE MESSAGE BOARD

if you use illegal substances, that's your business. please don't advertise your drug use on this message board. the *rave scene* has experienced a significant amount of negative scrutiny - by the media, by politicians, and by the general public - and ALL of this negative scrutiny is due to the PERCEPTION that raves are simply about drugs.

because of this negative perception, the toronto rave scene is experiencing a SEVERE venue-shortage problem. there is currently a very limited number of venues that are still willing to rent to rave promotors.

we are doing our best to change this perception but we can't do it if people continue to advertise their drug use in public. this message board is read by a lot of people, including members of the media and politicians. these people are not IN on your inside jokes so be aware that even your *drug jokes* may be misineterpreted.

if you want to post a message to talk about drugs in an informative or educational manner, then that's fine. but other drug talk is not welcome.

just so you all know, i just banned hiphophead and k hole massive crew from the board. i've received emails complaining about their messages and, after reading some of their posts, it seems that all they do is post mindless insults and other crap.

..in my opinion i havent seen too many intelligent threads that i wanted to comment on lately with this board..
..i always look at a message board as a way of further understanding the views and opinions of others..
..i dont blame will for wanting some standards set on this board..its getting incredibly off topic..and on topic is electronic dance music and the rave scene..so that isnt too constricting..there are enough issues in our scene worthy of some deep discussion that is being overlooked because of countless ridiculous posts that noone benefits from..
..lets discuss on this board..talking about the true issues(still a vague term) is goin to be of benefit to everyone..
..as far as all the drug talk..grow up..it seems to me that everyone wants the media to ease off on blaming the rave scene as an excuse to do drugs..
..when alot of you go out of your way to brag about what and how much drugs you do..and how funked up you were at the last party you are making the problem worse..noone cares how much of an etard you are except the media..whos probably reading this board too!!
